Detail: Go Mama! Stroller Workouts are 60 minute outdoor, stroller classes designed for all fitness levels for Moms, Dads and caregivers combining body weight exercises, resistance bands and cardiovascular activity.   Put the baby in the stroller, pack up your yoga mat and come to class! We will meet at the fountain next to the Lafayette Hotel every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30am.   Class is $5 per person or $20 for a punch card with 5 classes

Detail: The Washington County Health Department is conducting a Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Reno Business Park (old Kardex facility), 27823 OH-7 Marietta, Ohio. Flu vaccines will be available for children and adults. Please bring form of payment; such as, insurance card. Flu shots are covered under most insurances or $20.00 for self-pay rate). No one is turned away for inability to pay.  OPTIONAL: Bring completed Immunization Form in advance located on our website http://www.washingtongov.org/DocumentCenter/View/708  According to the Centers for Disease Control, the single best way to protect against flu is to get vaccinated each year. Protecting yourself from flu also protects the people around you who are more vulnerable to serious flu illness. Influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death. Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently. Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu and spread it to others.

They will be running demonstrations and working with youth to make and decorate a facemask for halloween. This will also serve as our kick-off to “Halloween Costume Saturdays” in October. The walk starts on our Wayne Street Medical Campus (pediatric building, 310 East 8th Street in Marietta) will follow the Marietta River Trail for one hour, but participants do not need to walk for the full hour, and may walk at their own pace and distance. Detail: DATES, TIMES, LOCATIONS: to be announced.   I’m taking a short maternity leave to welcome my first child into the world in a few short weeks, but wanted to get the word out that I’ll be back and will be hosting Back To School Minis!   I wanted to create this event to give those of you who may be interested a heads up so that you can RSVP to this event to be notified and the first to know when dates and details have been set in stone.   Dates: l’ll probably be holding these during the first few weeks of October.  Locations: I plan on hosting one day of sessions in Parkersburg (probably Fort Boreman) and one day in Beverly/Waterford area.

Detail: Join us for our very first Costume Saturday as we help the community prepare for Halloween. Our spaces will be open every Saturday to assist our members with costume creation. Get guidance from the Makerspace staff and use our equipment to help you create the costume you need, or want, this Halloween. Looking for a cape, cloak, mask or piece of clothing, use our fiber arts space. Looking for a magic wand or potion bottles from your favorite witches and wizards or props from your favorite video game characters, check our our creative arts space. Our 3D printers and/or laser space are also available to help you create that final prop to complete your costume. Our staff will be on hand to help you create what you need to complete your best costume. What: Pink Cupcake Run

Detail: *It’s the Sweetest Race in Town!* Join us for the 4th Annual Pink Cupcake Run!  It’s a 3-mile fun run or walk featuring three cupcake stations. Registration and the start and finish line are located in the Point Park Marketplace parking lot in Parkersburg. The first 300 registrants receive a signature Pink Cupcake medal and t-shirt.  The 3-mile route includes Avery and Market Streets. All proceeds benefit the Camden Clark Foundation’s Pink Mammogram Fund which provides free screening mammograms, diagnostics, biopsies and genetic testing for area underinsured and uninsured residents.  You can still register day of race from noon until 1:45 PM at the Point Park!
